Bad things happen in threes (I really, really, really hope)

Have you ever seen movies where, after something horrible happens, the protagonist sits on hands and knees in the mud, usually under cold rain, and screams “WHY???” at the cold unforgiving sky while sad music plays?

Well, if life was a movie, that would have been me this week.

Two of our three cars crapped out within minutes of each other. The part for the easily fixable problem won’t come in till Wednesday. The scalpers dealership charged us an arm and a leg for it. What 6 inch long rubber tube you know of costs $100?? It better whistle “take me out to the ballgame” while you drive or come with batteries included. Damn you, German engineering…

The other car decided it had enough and apparently committed suicide by slitting its wrists brake line, thus letting us know how it feels about hauling furniture and being loaned to friends.

Also, there’s a foot-sized hole in the new bedroom’s ceiling (that was a freak accident).

Bad things happen in threes, so my only solace is that it may be the end of the bad luck.
Unless the universe is sneaky and considers two cars for one bad thing. Our one remaining TV is really old…Hmmm…

To end this on the positive note: the brakes on the truck broke while it was parked, so noone got hurt. The other car is easily fixable, and friends loaned us theirs till Wednesday, so it’s all good. The ceiling is sheet rock and we’ll ( I mean Kevin, because I’m useless at house repairs) patch it up. Everyone is healthy, the house didn’t burn down and we have food in the fridge.
